Workshop: Advancing Structural Simulation to drive Innovative Sustainment Technologies
Advancing Structural Simulation to drive Innovative Sustainment Technologies
Date: Wednesday, 27th February 2019
Time: 9:00am – 11:30am
Location: Engineers Australia – Discovery Hub Room, Level 31 600 Bourke St, Melbourne VIC 3000
The Defence Science and Technology (DST) Group wish to invite you to attend a workshop titled: Advancing Structural Simulation to drive Innovative Sustainment Technologies (ASSIST), that will be held during the Australian International Aerospace Congress 2019. The ASSIST workshop aims to drive DST Aerospace Divisions’s strategic themes into developing a sovereign innovative sustainment capability to support Defence platforms.
DST is encouraging the building of a sovereign network that can support Defence in responding to technological changes and providing sustainment options to reduce the cost of ownership and/or increase platform availability. The purpose of this workshop is to provide information and foster discussions within the AIAC community on the challenges to be overcome to advance structural test and simulation technologies. These include:
– large scale strucutural analysis, such as hotspot visualisation for the RAAF’s C-27J full scale fatigue test;
– testing technology enhancements, such as hardware/simulation-in-the-loop methodologies to help provide rapid structural certification of additive manufactured repairs; and
– degradation modelling of structural materials, such as predicting the growth of damage in composite aerospace components.
If you wish to attend, please register your interest by email: [email protected].
The final workshop program will be posted to all registered attendees and available at https://www.aiac18.com.
